God has been doing some amazing things: First Steps

Writer's picture: Thaddaeus AlexanderThaddaeus Alexander

As you may know, for the past 9 weeks, I have been doing an internship with Fire & Fragrance South Africa 🇿🇦. I have been learning so much and have gotten to understand the DNA of what it means to live and do life with these amazing people in Potchefstroom. Together we are building a house, and in this how there are many rooms, which represent all the ministries run through this base, which are Hospital, Woven (night ministry/red light distract), Old age home, street Evangelism, Hope again (A Bible centered Rehab), End Bible Poverty Now! (The goal is to get a bible in every language in every nation to have a bible in their native language), HULC project 54 (Which is a project to start revival in all 54 nations in Africa), Redwood Christian academy  ( A bible centered preschool), agriculture and sustainable farming, training (Leading DTS, DBS, SBS) and these rooms are connect by the hallways which are People, momentum, bridges, story, sound, alters, infrastructure, dignity.

This house is supported by the pillars of prayer and worship, seeking and saving the lost, training, media, ending bible poverty now, and mercy. This internship has grown and refined me, God is so good! While we participated in the lecture phase, we read the book “Values Matter” by Darlene Cunningham, co-founder of YWAM and wife of Louren Cunningham. This book discusses the 18 values of YWAM, as well as the Legacy words: 1. Know God 2. Make God known. 3. Hear God’s voice. 4. Practice worship and intercessory prayer. 5. Be visionary. 6. Champion young people 7. Be decentralized. 8. Be international and interdenominational. 9. Have a biblical Christian worldview. 10. Function in teams. 11. Exhibit servant leadership 12. Do first, then teach 13. Be relationship-oriented 14. Value the individual 15. Value families 16. Practice dependence on God

17. Practice hospitality 18. Communicate with integrity and the legacy words:

  1. The Covenantal Vision of the Waves, which Loren received in June of 1956 in the Bahamas shortly before his 21st birthday.

  2. The Call to Disciple Nations through the Seven Spheres of Society (1975),

  3.  The Christian Magna Carta (1981),

  4. The Commitment to End Bible Poverty Now (1967 & 2014).

It was such a great reminder and was truly a blessing to go through. During our classes, we got to hear from a plethora of great speakers who created a space for us to think and have meaningful Q&A-style conversations, which ranged from Christian worldview, biblical leadership, biblical relationships, and many more. The leadership of FFSA has such a passion for knowing God and making Him known, and that bleeds into everything they do. They discuss and acknowledge things through the lens of being holy and pure to protect our witness. It has truly been an honor to walk with a community that values integrity so much that they are willing to have difficult and uncomfortable conversations when needed. But as of now, the lecture phase is over, and we begin the practical application.

I am joining the ministry Educating for Life, a ministry that:

  • Help teachers evaluate their beliefs and values

  • Help teachers change their mindset to improve classroom excellence

  • Help teachers gain a Biblical worldview

  • Help teachers change their hearts

Through this ministry, we intend to reach both students and teachers with the Gospel through education. This is also in the pioneering phase, and we plan on reaching both our Local townships in Potchefstroom called Promosa, Mohadin, and  Ikageng. As well as using education to reach people in closed and difficult countries to evangelize; however, every nation wants their population to get higher education. The first schools were both built and run by the church. Education found its way into the hands of the world, however, I believe it is time to take our inheritance back. I believe these are the first steps to do so. Amen.

Please consider supporting me, whether that is continual monthly support or a one-time blessing. If you have any questions, please contact me through email on my website at www.thaddaeusinmissions.com
